The Salvation Army’s annual Weekend of Prayer for Victims of Sex Trafficking is happening September 24-26, 2010. Our theme for the weekend is “Deliver us from evil” because we believe that all of us need to be freed from the evil that is sex trafficking. Everyone is welcome to join us in prayer and in intercession for our mothers, sisters and daughters who are being trafficked.
The vision is for Christians around the world to fast and to pray sincerely, compassionately and intelligently for victims of sexual trafficking. In years past, Christians have organized prayer and awareness in their workplaces, in their churches and in their communities.
Our hope is that this form of the slave trade will be abolished, that all people involved in human trafficking will find restoration, and that victims will be cared for in body, mind and spirit.

Canadian singer/songwriter Jimmy VanderHeyden has just released “Prisoners of Hope,” an album that chronicles the tragic story of human sexual trafficking, highlighting the pain and the suffering, and still an enduring hope for the worldwide victims of this terrible crime.
The single “The Truth Isn’t Sexy (The Truth Hurts)” is inspired by our campaign.

The Salvation Army in British Columbia is determined to provide support and restoration to women who have been rescued from slavery in human sexual trafficking.
Welcome to Deborah’s Gate
Recently opening for service in December, 2009, Deborah’s Gate is a safe house program that is already working with women who have been rescued by authorities from human trafficking.
